Born on the 27th day of August, Kalpana is a vocalist with an extra-ordinary mellifluous voice and an endearing aura of charm and elegance. A graceful, good-looking female with loads of emotions and innocence in her voice and nature is very close to her name (which means Imagination, the cause to creativity). Kalpana hails from Himachali Brahmin family and daughter of Mr. Mehar Chand and Mrs. Neelam Kumari, a business class family, and great music lovers, whose love for music persuaded her career in music.
Her musical training had been under many Gurus like the renowned Ghazal Maestro, Shri Satish Babbar (from whom she had learnt Indian Classical and Light Music in the traditional Guru-shishya Parampara), music director and violinist Sh. Gian singh Bisht, Vocalist  Sh. Deep Singh Bisht and Tablist from Banaras Gharana Sh. Mukesh Tiwari,Mr. Ibrahim (Vocalist and Dancer) and Vocalist Mrs. Jaspal Kaur. With an intense inquisitiveness to learn new things she always wants to keep on learning and beautiful says in her shayraana andaaz.

Kalpana has performed in the major cities of the country and also in Mauritius and Nepal.
